Welcome

Christine VanCott is a watercolor artist and children’s illustrator who creates small-scale dimensional paintings, prints and custom kids’ name art.

Her playful paintings are often composed in several layers, then hand cut and hand assembled for a 3-dimensional, pop-up book effect. Like a miniature storyboard, the background and foreground give each scene a sense of depth and natural shadow. Her work is tiny and cheerful, with small details and a free sense of scale and perspective.

Thanks for finding me on IpsyDoodles.com! I’m excited to create a piece just for you –

  1. I picked up a little piece of your art from the “free artwork” box on the greenway in asheville. Absolutely love it! I have a little camping van and it just fits in there and makes an empty corner happy. Thank you!

    • Hi Sylvia,
That’s the nicest compliment possible & the perfect location! I’m so happy to hear it’s brightened your day. Thanks for finding me & thanks so much for sharing your story!

  2. Hi I got a piece of your art on the greenway at the River Arts District in Asheville! I just love it so much! Such a sweet piece. I work at a Retirement Community and we’ve displayed it there in the Activity Center. The residents love it. Thank you so much!

    • Hi Jennifer, you just made my day. Thank you so much for sharing! I’m so happy to hear one of the little pieces found the perfect home & can make a cheerful display – what a lovely story!

  3. Christine,

Loved meeting you at your art studio and discovering your treasures! The original works of the Meerkats and Baby Bear are going to make great gifts! I’ll be proud to display them in my home until they go to their new home! They were perfectly framed and the extra attention you took to wrap them was appreciated!

    Yours in art!

  4. We’ve ordered at least four baby-name framed plaques for baby gifts this past summer. They are so unique & darling. Christine does an amazing job with great turn-around time. Everyone LOVED these gifts. . Highly recommend!

  5. We first heard it in the news and then saw the devastation of Asheville. We only get bits and pieces of info but it seems as though the River Arts district was hit especially hard. We hope that you are safe and that you continue to thrive.

    • Hi Beth and Dave,
Thank you so much for your message. I am completely heartbroken by the catastrophic damage to our beautiful art community. Hundreds of art studios were completely submerged underwater and thousands of businesses were completely destroyed by the historic flooding of the French Broad River. I am so grateful to be safe and dry. Thank you for keeping all of the affected families in your thoughts – Christine
